COVID vs. flu

Difficult to understand whether it’s a good new or not. In reality the assumption is that the number of persons that have been infected is higher than the official data and therefore the real lethality rate is lower. However, from my limited point of view (I’m living middle way from Milano to Bergamo) I will not forget having been locked for about two months with silence around, where the only noise were the ambulances and coffins where brought to the crematory by the army trucks. Why the same does not happen during the flu? Then there should be something different from COVID and flu..
