What “youth” exactly means

In my previous post, I have said something relevant to having said “farewell to the youth”, that in my case I can identify with a definite date. After that, I have been told that, before identifying a date, I should have defined exactly what I meant for youth. I have not been able to give a proper definition: useless to say, when we are speaking about saying farewell to the youth, we are not speaking about physical constitution, but we are more concerned with cultural, psychological and social aspect. Then the question is: how can we define, in rational terms, what youth is and what means being young?.
