Monuments

The recent controversy in the United States on the statues, which bounced yesterday on Italian news, is simply ridiculous. General Robert Edward Lee was the best strategist in the civil war, fought on the losing side but that does not mean he was a criminal, the same winners recognized his value and correctness. Italo Balbo was a fascist, as at the time majority of the Italians was, however the Chicago monument is related to the trans-Atlantic flight in 1933, and that was his work, whether we like it or not. And finally Christopher Columbus: majority of the persons who want to demolish his statue are Americans because, although indirectly, they went to America following him (with the exception of native Americans, obviously)
