Mu’ammar Qaddhafi was a dictator, whose politics could be roughly defined as national-socialist. In more than 40 years of government he made a lot of mistakes, on the other side he fought illiteracy, that was quite completely eliminated, he obtained substantial results on emancipating women, that were going to school and to military service. He is probably responsible, in those 40 years, of the killing of some thousands of people, probably less than the number of deaths that the civil war causes now in few months. The intervention of 2011 has actually destroyed a country, we assume that the real cause is to be found in unconfessable interests, it will be sad when the future historians will discover that the cause has been only stupidity.
